Hi.

Welcome! I teach basic needle felting techniques, write fiber processing guides, provide tutorials, and blog about whatever comes to mind (including homeschooling my two kids and my life in general). Oh, and I make things too!

Pillowcase # 1

So here is the patchwork silk pillowcase I'd been working on last few days for my giant old down-filled Euro pillow. I'll be getting started on the second one soon. I did notice some basting I forgot to remove, but I'll probably continue adding stitches to this over time anyway. For now, it doesn't bother me.

I didn't work on any creative projects today so far. There was a bit of homeschooling, discussing Independence Day and having the kids answer questions (tailored to their ages). Even though my 7 year old didn’t quite answer the questioned as asked, he did answer why we celebrate, so I accept the answer. Also, his attempt at the Betsy Ross became instead his own redesign of the American flag, with the number 50 written out in stars. I loved his answers so I am sharing it here.

I did learn that July is apparently “World Watercolor Month,” so here is the one I am currently working on. Maybe I'll do a bit more work on it tonight.

I hope everyone had a great 4th today, to celebrate leaving the king.
