Artful Menu Planning
Today, I planned out the next month's menu. I also made some additional magnets for new menu items.
This also gave me the idea to write out a longer post on how I made this, and the steps to make something like this for yourself. This is one of many ADHD-friendly systems I have implemented in my home to simplify my life, so I am less likely to get off track.
Yes, I am well aware that it isn’t the healthiest (took 3 college nutrition courses, so I know what I'm eating…). However, I have to strike a balance between what everyone in my family will eat, two individuals being especially picky, and I need something that is effortless for me because my executive functioning doesn’t function predictably. Getting food in everyone's bellies is the most important. I can work on the other stuff incrementally. Luckily, we don't have any serious dietary issues or restrictions that would require a stricter adherence to a cleaner diet plan (my son had FPIES as an infant, something I wouldn't wish on anyone, and which he luckily grew out of except for one problem protein). I will get into a deeper explanation in a longer post (and maybe clean it up and get better pictures as well).
I finally finished all the kitchen towels that I posted about yesterday. I only had one left to do this morning.
As far as funny ADHD moments, I got an email from the library because they have my vehicle registration. Apparently it was in the book I returned over a week ago. A book that I had forgotten I had, let alone to return, for well beyond the deadline, and they assumed was lost. They tried calling me, but the phone number on file is one we haven’t had for years. I just saw the email today. Luckily I can just pick it up the next time I go get more books. I should probably check my account and see what I owe first and update my number… ADHD taxes. Though they did say they eliminated late fees, so I am hoping they will cancel the lost book fee for me.
