Hi.

Welcome! I teach basic needle felting techniques, write fiber processing guides, provide tutorials, and blog about whatever comes to mind (including homeschooling my two kids and my life in general). Oh, and I make things too!

Practical Things

Something I dont really share or talk about often (if at all) is my love of dip pens. I am not a calligrapher, and I don't practice any fancy script, though as a kid I did try learning blackletter at one point with my first calligraphy book set that came with some basic beginner supplies.

I guess that is why I dont talk about it much, because it seems that the world of such pens is dominated by calligraphers. Maybe someday I will pick it up and spend some time practicing. For now, it is really because I enjoy writing with them. I also really love mechanical pencils and clutch pencils, and my favorite wooden pencilsare blackwings, but anyways…

I needed a better storage solution than the one I had for some of my nibs, so I decided to repurpose an altoid tin I had laying around- the only problem is I didnt want them getting banged up from rattling about. I had some scrap fabric left on my desk, so I decided to hand stitch some padded lining for the tin.

Of course, an issue is attaching it somehow, and I didnt want to use glue, because that would seep into the fabric. I have this roll of tacky double sided tape that I really love, which ended up being perfect for the job.

Now, they have a comfy home. I just need to figure out how to redo the outside of the tin, but that will require a bit of research.

The rest of the day was spent playing V Rising with my husband, which I didnt expect I would enjoy quite as much as I do.
