Hi.

Welcome! I teach basic needle felting techniques, write fiber processing guides, provide tutorials, and blog about whatever comes to mind (including homeschooling my two kids and my life in general). Oh, and I make things too!

Recombobulating

I really need to spend some time this weekend getting myself recombobulated. I need to organize my stuff, my projects, my ideas. I am starting to feel confused and disoriented due to all the things I am working on simultaneously.

In the meantime, here's a tiny, quick project I worked on this morning.

I have these Japanese thread snips that I absolutely love. Many different brands sell them these days, and most don’t have anything on the handle, but these came wrapped in red and white cords. The problem is that over time, and with plenty of use (as you can see the cords themselves had started showing some dirt), the cords had started to unravel, and my attempts to fix and tighten them left much to be desired.

I removed the cords, and instead decided to wrap them in some scrap silk from the patchwork pillowcases I'd worked on. I then stitched the cord with a silk thread in contrasting color. Maybe I'll add on more over time, making the handle thicker and more padded. I suppose you can say my thread snips have officially been recombobulated.
