Crystal Patches
Crystal Patches
A needle felted patch for mending or just for fun!
These crystal patches can make mending easy, or they can be a fun addition to a bag or a jacket. If you love the look of needle felted mending but don’t have the skills (or the time), all you need to do with these is stitch them on. I like a blanket stitch (very simple to do/learn) to help hold down the edges. As with any mending, you will want to make sure that the patch is larger than the hole you are choosing to mend. These are about 2.5” square.
These are 100% wool, using my own hand dyed wool - as such, please be mindful of how the item is washed once these are on. They can go through the washer, on cool, but don’t throw them in the dryer. Hot water can cause dyes to bleed out of wool. They are fairly densely felted, but there is always the possibility of additional shrinkage which would cause some puckering. Don’t soak these for extended periods of time in oxyclean or other harsh detergents, because that can also cause colors to bleed.
Here’s a photo of the one I added to my holey sweater. You will receive a random crystal patch - no two are alike.
