Where To Buy Needle Felting Supplies?

The needle felting community has really grown over the past several years! Which is amazing, because it’s such a wonderful, versatile, and easy medium to get into.
This is a huge list of shops that sell needle felting supplies, including basics, exotic fibers, and curly locks (some just specialize in one thing or another). The shops are listed by country in alphabetical order. While it was fun learning how to search for needle felting supplies, felting wool, carded wool, etc. in a number of different languages, languages barriers certainly were an issue. Unfortunately searching “needle felting supplies in country” returned the same shops that are local to me (the states).
I expect these shops won’t know what hit them when they suddenly get a bunch more orders from you all! 🤭 (OK… emojis on blog posts just feel weird. Anyway.)
I gave up with trying to search anything that is written in other characters. It wasn’t an intentional exclusion, I’m just limited in my ability to decipher things. If you know a great shop that should be on the list, send me a link, name of the shop and its location. Also, I went a bit cross-eyed between searching and adding links, and there’s a chance I accidentally put a shop in the wrong location (I caught myself a few times and corrected it). If I need to fix any, again, let me know. There are a lot of shops here. I had to finally schedule the post, otherwise I’m sure I’d spend the rest of my days searching and adding.
And of course, down to the last hour and I find more shops to add… so this will go up, but I’ll keep on adding.

I included shops that sell exotic fibers - because you can absolutely needle felt with silks. I also included a few who sell things like art yarns. While there are tons of shops that sell art yarns as well (this list would be miles long if I included yarn shops), I did include the ones that sell smaller sample packs of art yarns, because those are a great way to include some texture in your projects. There are far more things you can include in your needle felting than what you get in a needle felting kit.
🐏 Shops indicated with a sheep emoji: I included farms who sell washed/scoured wool, because I love supporting small farms - it’s one of the best parts of learning to process my own wool (other than having full control over my supplies). Some, but not all, sell dyed fiber goods as well. It’s really easy to dye your own wool, but even if you aren’t ready for that, you can still use the fibers. Consider using black, brown or grey wool from black, brown or grey sheep in your project, instead of buying it dyed. How about using undyed carded wool as your core? Core isn’t a special/specific fiber. Most of the time it’s a blend, only because that’s how it comes from the mill - farms will sell their wool to the mill and the mill just processes it all together. Different mills have their own blends. But it doesn’t have to be! Many farmers send their fleece to a mill to be processed into a mix of carded batts, rovings and yarn, because those are much easier to sell on the fiber market than raw wool. I hope in due time I can help change that, and encourage you to learn how to process your own.
I did mostly omit resellers of premade kits, like the Hamanaka ones you can find just about anywhere these days. There were a few of those, that all had the same projects. While I did include a handful of project kit shops (especially if they clearly looked like the seller’s own design), I was mainly looking for supplies. I omitted any that operate like alibaba or aliexpress, or massive shops that sell tons of household things and had maybe two listings for wool and needles. That would be like shopping for supplies at Walmart.
I also tried to pay attention to reviews. If a shop had too many negative reviews due to things like bad customer service or a bad product, those were omitted. If a shop had negative reviews (especially piled on from the same buyer, since they review each product), due to a shipping mishap like getting lost in the mail, I ignored those. Mailing/shipping is all over the place especially in 2020/2021, and most of the sellers on Etsy are very tiny home businesses. They are limited in what they are able to do as far as calling the post. Nobody has control over customs inspections or the speed at which those happen.
For those who are wondering why I included a few “wet felting” suppliers who sell silk - you can absolutely needle felt with silk, and it’s really fun to do.

Amazon: Obviously, Amazon is not a needle felting supplier, so I'm putting them here separately since some people still want to shop on there. To help you out, I curated this idea list of the needle felting supplies that I think are of a decent quality (includes "vegan" or wool-free felting supplies towards the bottom of the list - anyone interested in those should read my post on reclaiming fiber from yarn). That being said, I still highly recommend checking out the sellers below, because you really can't get everything on Amazon.

I have no experience ordering from these shops, they are the ones I found while searching for needle felting supplies to the best of my ability due (language barriers and all). Note: As I mentioned above, I did pay attention to reviews. If something gets lost in the mail, especially internationally, it is not the seller’s fault. This portion in the list is primarily for those who reside within those countries or nearby. Any time you ship an item internationally, there is some risk involved - a lot can go wrong. Things can go wrong even within your own country. Internationally, things always have a chance of getting lost or stuck in customs. If the negative reviews did not reflect the product, but shipping mishaps, I ignored them.
