Stitching & Painting
After a week of mostly work and little creative play, today, I am back to my art. I still need to get some more homeschool stuff done of course, but I needed a break from it.
First, the painting in progress. Mostly focused on layering up glazes/washes, which I would dry (at an angle) as I got some housework done. I suppose watercolor is good for that. Paint, go do something, paint a bit more, go do something. It needs to dry in between anyway.
I also spent longer breaks listening to a lecture series on The Pagan World: Ancient Religions Before Christianity on Wondrium, all while stitching up the second of the patchwork silk pillowcases.
The second one is going much quicker for me, now that I know what I am doing, and I think that once this is done, I'll give a similar treatment to an old sheet, so we have a patchwork silk bedspread. I may also do more pillow cases. I do actually enjoy working on these. It's a nice way to upcycle old linens.
I do actually also want to set aside two of the saris and make my own sari wrap skirt. I have two from darn good yarn, and I love wearing them during the summer. I normally don’t wear bright colors, but for some reason, I don’t feel out of place wearing those.
