Stitch by Stitch
It's hard keeping up with all the things all at the same time. One of these days I will have it figured out, but today is not that day.
That being said, I did finish the second pillowcase. The kids have been on their new homeschool routine. We've been busy socializing.
I have also been suffering from more frequent migraines, but so far I've made it a full week without one, so maybe I have it back under control? One can hope.
Current creative project: a series of embroideries based on florigraphia, the way people used to communicate with a bouquet of flowers. Now that I finally finished an embroidery project I had put on pause over 2 years ago, I got a new piece of linen on the hoop and got started. As you can see, other than a few basic pencil marks on the fabric, this is mostly an intuitive process. Maybe I'll make a pattern of it and put it in the shop, but it wont give you the colors or how to do the stitches. Not even close to that yet, though. For now, here is my work in progress.
So far, I have part of the reed (Arundo donax), the head of angelica, the title and starting on the stem of the Acanthus. I jump around as I figure out how things will overlap. I've never been good about sketching out before working anyway. Just enough to get an idea of where I want to start.
Til next time.
